These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "user") and SATs Superstars MAX ("we", "us"), the operator of satsuperstars.com. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these Terms. If you're under 18, your parent or legal guardian must read and accept them on your behalf.
1. The service
SATs Superstars MAX is an online revision and practice platform for UK Key Stage 2 SATs and 11+ entrance exams. It includes practice questions, mock papers, a spaced-repetition flashcard system, an AI tutor ("Dr Nile"), and progress-tracking for pupils, parents, and teachers.
2. Accounts
- You must give a working email address and a password of at least 8 characters.
- One account per person. Accounts are non-transferable.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secret.
- Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
3. Subscriptions, payment & refunds
Access is by paid subscription:
- Superstar - £4.99/month (SATs only)
- MAX - £8.99/month (SATs + 11+ for GL, CEM, ISEB, Kent & Bucks)
Subscriptions auto-renew monthly. You may cancel at any time from the Billing page. After cancellation you keep access until the end of the current billing period.
Cooling-off: UK consumers have a 14-day statutory right to cancel a new subscription for a full refund, except where the service has already been used significantly (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).
All prices include VAT. We may change prices with at least 30 days' email notice; existing subscribers keep the old price until the next renewal.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your account with others or sell/resell access
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce question content for any commercial purpose
- Use Dr Nile to generate hateful, illegal, or sexual content, or content unsuitable for children
- Attempt to bypass rate-limits, security filters, or the safeguarding system
- Upload malware, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with other users
5. Content ownership
All question content, curriculum mapping, the Dr Nile AI persona, logos, and code belong to us. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own revision during your subscription. Don't reproduce it elsewhere.
Anything you type or create (notes, flashcards you author, chat messages) stays yours - we only get a licence to store and display it back to you.
6. AI tutor (Dr Nile)
Dr Nile gives study guidance, not professional advice. It is not a substitute for a real teacher, doctor, or qualified professional. AI responses can be wrong - always cross-check important facts. We may log chat content to prevent abuse and protect children (see Privacy Policy §11).
7. School / teacher accounts
If a school has a subscription, the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead may access pupils' chat logs, progress data, and flags. Teachers cannot see pupils from other schools.
8. Safeguarding disclosure
We may disclose pupil content to safeguarding authorities, the NSPCC, local-authority social services, or the police where we have reasonable grounds to believe a child is at risk of harm, as required by UK law.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law:
- We provide the service "as is". We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, bug-free performance, or specific exam results.
- We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental loss.
- Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
- Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate any account that breaks these Terms, abuses the AI, or endangers other users. We'll refund the unused portion of a paid month unless the breach involved fraud, abuse of children, or illegal activity.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. For material changes we'll email registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the change date means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, except that UK consumers retain all statutory rights in their country of residence.
