Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 May 2026

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "user") and Dr Nile Ltd, the operator of SATs Superstars MAX and satsuperstars.com. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these Terms. If you're under 18, your parent or legal guardian must read and accept them on your behalf.

1. The service

SATs Superstars MAX is an online revision and practice platform for UK Key Stage 2 SATs and 11+ entrance exams. It includes practice questions, mock papers, an AI tutor ("SATs Superstars MAX"), and progress-tracking for pupils, parents, and teachers.

No exam outcome guarantee: practice questions and mock papers are algorithmically generated to cover curriculum topics and approximate exam-style difficulty. They are not copied from official past papers, and they do not guarantee a particular score, school place, or exam outcome.

2. Accounts

3. Subscriptions, payment & refunds

Personal access is by paid subscription, and pupils may also access the service through a paid school account or authorised classroom code. Before checkout, the current price, billing period, minimum term if any, renewal terms, and cancellation route must be shown clearly. Current paid family plans displayed in the app are:

Subscriptions auto-renew monthly. You may cancel at any time from the Billing page or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals. After cancellation you normally keep access until the end of the current billing period.

Cooling-off and refunds: UK consumer cancellation rights apply. If immediate digital access starts during a cancellation period, cancellation or refund rights may be affected only where the law allows and only after the required information/consent has been provided. Nothing in these Terms removes your statutory rights.

All prices include VAT. We may change prices with at least 30 days' email notice; existing subscribers keep the old price until the next renewal.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Content ownership

All question content, curriculum mapping, the SATs Superstars MAX AI tutor persona, logos, and code belong to us. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own revision during your subscription. Don't reproduce it elsewhere.

Anything you type or create (notes, chat messages) stays yours - we only get a licence to store and display it back to you.

6. AI tutor (SATs Superstars MAX)

SATs Superstars MAX gives study guidance, not professional advice. It is not a substitute for a real teacher, doctor, safeguarding lead, solicitor, or qualified professional. AI responses can be wrong - always cross-check important facts. Relevant question context and pupil messages may be sent to OpenAI, and we may log chat content for continuity, abuse prevention, and safeguarding review (see Privacy Policy §11).

Our Privacy Notice explains our controller/processor position, processors, browser storage, AI handling, retention, and how account holders can request export or deletion review. School-account requests may need school-controller review before we can complete them.

7. School / teacher accounts

If a school has a subscription, the school is normally the data controller for pupil deployment and Dr Nile Ltd acts as processor for school learning data unless a signed DPA says otherwise. The school's authorised staff or Designated Safeguarding Lead may access pupils' progress data, relevant chat logs, and flags for learning/safeguarding purposes. Teachers cannot see pupils from other schools.

8. Safeguarding disclosure

We may disclose pupil content to safeguarding authorities, the NSPCC, local-authority social services, or the police where we have reasonable grounds to believe a child is at risk of harm, as required by UK law.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law:

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate any account that breaks these Terms, abuses the AI, or endangers other users. We'll refund the unused portion of a paid month unless the breach involved fraud, abuse of children, or illegal activity.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. For material changes we'll email registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the change date means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except that consumers keep any mandatory rights to bring a claim in the courts of their country of residence and any other statutory protections that cannot be contracted away.
